A History of the Indiana High School

Boys' Basketball Tournament

Here you will find a complete synopsis of all Boys' Basketball State Tournaments through history (from the first sanctioned tournament in 1911, up through 1997 when the last State Champion was crowned)!

This site is intended to honor the memory of the great institution of High School Basketball in my home state, and all the schools, players, coaches and fans who made it one of the greatest ways to spend March!

THIS SITE IS UNDERGOING MAJOR CHANGES, AND WILL SOON BE PRESENTING A WONDERFUL MONUMENT TO THE TOURNAMENT!!!!

STAY TUNED!!!!!

We are soliciting assistance in getting this site operational.  We have an EXTENSIVE database, but have had no success in building a site that is worthy of the wonderful tournament.  If you know ASP.NET, and can assist in programming, or if you can help us to add content to the database (lots of research is involved, and you should live in Indiana to have access to the libraries), then please e-mail us for instructions!

Herbert F. Schwomeyer
28 Apr 1918 - 11 Mar 2011

A GREAT Indiana basketball man!

Dr. Schwomeyer passed away on the 100th anniversary of the crowning of the very first H.S. Basketball champion!
One hundred years, to the day!

Go here to see another extraordinary fact we uncovered!
